Imagine a summer evening in Ivory Coast, in Abidjan. On stage, a ring where converge all eyes, while a group with the most alluring outfits prepares his battle. The dancers will fight each other, or rather outdo each other in demonstrating dances from their cultures.
In Faro-Faro, choreographer Massidi Adiatou puts the spotlight on the virtuosity of urban-inspired dances: offbeat cuts, dance breaks, martial arts, acrobatics, and traditional African dances. All done with a dizzying speed.
Faro-Faro is an ode to the beauty and cultural diversity of Africa, where fashion plays a leading role.
